Simple Stamping Birthday Cards - Broadway Birthday and For The Love Of Felt

Hello!

Welcome to my little blog.  Thanks for stopping by!  I had some fun today making some simple stampin cards.  I haven't done any simple stamping in a long time.  In fact I sometimes find it difficult to simple stamp.  If you don 't know, simple stamping uses only stamps, ink, and paper!  Sometimes for the monthly Stampin' UP!® Simple Stamping Challenge, they change it up and add in a punch, embellishment, or ribbon etc.

This month it is stamps, ink, and paper.  So here are my cards for this challenge.

For this first card I used the Broadway Birthday Stamp Set.  I created an Ombre Card with 5 different ink colors....six if you include the candle flame.  Top to bottom: Memento Jet Black Ink, Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, Pacific Point, and Balmy Blue.  The candle flame is Crushed Curry.
I love how this card turned out.  Perfect for anyone's birthday.

For my second card I decided to use the For The Love Of Felt Stamp Set and the Stamparatus.   I wanted to make this a rainbow card so it would be bright and fun.  Ink colors used are Poppy Parade, Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, and Mango Melody.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

THANK YOU!

One Card Wonder Wednesday, April 1, 2020 - Ornate Garden Suite and Bloom & Grow

Hello!

Welcome to One Card Wonder Wednesday for April 1, 2020.  I hope you are getting some crafting time in while you are home.  I know I am.  More crafting than I've done in a while, I'm kind of loving it.  Now of course this means I have been ignoring the two closets that I need to clean out and organize.  LOL!  But I just figure that is a project for another day...there will be plenty of them.

Here is the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set.

I love everything about the the sentiments in this stamp set.  The combination of fonts makes me happy.  It's the little things in life, right?

Here is the card I made for this post:

This card could be used for a birthday, wedding, congratulations, or even a thank you!  It is vibrant and cheerful.  We could all use some cheer right now.  The Champagne Foil was die cut with the Ornate Layers Dies and the Ornate Borders Dies.  I love the sparkle it adds to this card.

Here is close up of the vellum.  I tried a technique new to me and it worked!  I sponged the back of the vellum with Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere it to the card.  I wanted the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper to show through the vellum without the adhesive to show.  Whoop Whoop!  This technique is amazing, I will be using it more often.

I stamped a small sprig from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set on the inside of the card in Terracotta Tile Ink.  Doing this always adds just a little something extra to a card.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

THANK YOU!

UpdateTuesday - March 31, 2020 - Ornate Garden Suite

Hello!

It's Time for Update Tuesday once again.  Are you ready?  I am!  Tomorrow, April 1st the Ornate Garden Suite will be available for you to purchase.  It is a pre-release from the upcoming annual catalog.  We get it early, how fun is that?!

There are so many elements to the suite, I can't wait for you to see them all tomorrow online at valeriesmith.stampinup.net  There are two stamp sets, two sets of dies, two ribbons, and one new embellishment.

Here is the project inspiration photo that Stampin' UP!® shared with us today.

Image © Stampin' UP!®

Today I am going to make both of these projects.  Although I will be turning the cute little gift box on the right into a card.

Here is the first card:

What a great little way to thank someone!  I did make the Terracotta Tile eyelet piece in the center square, in the original photo it isn't quite square.  It caught my eye and I wanted each corner of it to touch the stamped filigree corners.

The second card:

I love how this turned out.  It is a fabulous card.  The use of watercolor pencils and the blender pens add the muted color that it needed.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!
