One Card Wonder Wednesday July 30, 2019: Mosaic All Occasion Card

Let me just say yesterday was a really long day.  I barely had time to eat, but I did.  I never skip food, haha!  I had household things to take care of, aka Laundry, ugh, as well as wanting to create my Update Tuesday projects and video.  It was a little too much, I was seeing crosseyed by the end of the day!  But I did it,  I'm back and ready to go!  I still had two loads of laundry to fold this morning but hey, it was clean.

After making yesterdays FollowYour Art cards and treat box I needed to plan a card that was a little more relaxed for today.  I think I accomplished that.  I know the layout of this card will be a big hit.  Simple, yet sophisticated.  Today's One Card Wonder Wednesday is a beauty that is easy to make.  Yet it looks like you spent hours on it!  Perfect, right?   And the layout I chose can be used with any Designer Series Paper and card stock that you want, making this an easy card to use for any occasion.

I used items from the Mosaic Mood Suite to make this card and I love how it looks.  The Champagne Foil layer gives it some extra bling without adding embellishments to it.  The Timeless Label Punch creates a label that is curved on the ends but has straight edges too.  Even though I know the sentiment is meant to look like mosaic art, it reminds me of a marquee.  LOVE IT!
I made the photo extra large so you could really see the detail.

Layers of Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper and Champagne Foil Sheets really make the card pop.  The Specialty Designer Series Paper is so much prettier when you see it in person.  I'll be honest, the catalog does not do it justice.  It is hard to photograph.  I found that out when I was trying to get a photo of it today.  It has a beautiful embossed shine to it, not every element on the paper though, so it is just enough shimmer.  Some elements are raised like a mosaic tile would be, and it gives the paper a beautiful texture. That is why I say you have to have it in your hands to see its beauty.   Does that make sense?  It is hard to describe but hopefully I have captured it in the video for you to see.

To make The Mosaic All Occasion Card:
  1. Cut a piece of Terracotta Tile Card Stock 4 1/4in. x 11in. and score at 5 1/2in.  Fold on score line.
  2. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock 4in. x 5 1/4in. and adhere to the inside of the card.  Stamp the small flower inside the card.
  3. Cut three strips of Champagne Foil Sheet 1 1/4in. x 5in.  Cut one strip 1/4in. x 5in.
  4. Cut three strips of Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper 1in. x 4 3/4in.
  5. Adhere the Mosaic paper strips to the front of the Champagne Foil strips.
  6. Using Stampin' Dimensionals adhere these strips to the front of the Terracotta Tile  card base.  Start with your center strip, it will help you to keep your strips evenly spaced.
  7. Stamp "Sending All Happy Wishes Your Way" sentiment in Terracotta Tile ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock.
  8. Punch Sentiment out using the Timeless Label Punch.  Also punch one label from Very Vanilla and one label from Champagne Foil.
  9. Cut the Very Vanilla Label in half lengthwise and do the same with the Champagne Foil label.
  10. Adhere both halves of the Very Vanilla label to the back of the sentiment label making sure it peeks up over the top and bottom of the sentiment label.  Then adhere the champagne label halves making sure they peek up over the top and bottom of the very vanilla label.  You now have a triple layered sentiment.
  11. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock 1in. x 3in. and cut each end using the Banner Triple Punch...only trim the end off, no extra, you need the full length of the piece of card stock.
  12. Adhere this piece to the back of the triple layered sentiment.
  13. Using the Triple Banner punch again cut the ends off of the 1/4in x 5in. Champagne Foil Strip.   For each end you can put this in all the way before you punch.
  14. Adhere this piece to the back of the triple layered sentiment.
  15. Adhere your triple layered sentiment to the from of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
You did it!  Another gorgeous card completed for you to give!

It is Update Tuesday once again!  I love the projects that Stampin' UP! highlighted today in our Stampin' Success email.  It is great to get these beautiful examples to help promote our products.  I hope you enjoy today's Update Tuesday as much as I do.

How cute are these Art themed projects!
Image Copyright Stampin' UP!

I am not even sure where to start!  So I will just begin like I'm reading and I will go from right to left!
And since there are three projects today I will try to make this as brief as I can without skimping on any necessary details.

The Adorable card on the left is made with the small Memories & More Cards.  This is fantastic because these come in a package that contains two sizes of cards and envelopes.  Each package contains 10 of each sized card and envelopes.  This smaller size is 3in. x 4in. and the larger size, 4in. x 6 in., was used for the card on the right.  The boxed project in the center uses the Mini Shipping Boxes which are 4in. x 3in. x 2 5/8in.

For the Ribbon & Button Card on the left:
  1. Cut a piece of Follow your Art Designer Series Paper  3in. x 4 in. to fit the front of the card and adhere it to the front using Snail adhesive or Tombow multipurpose glue.
  2. On Whisper White card stock stamp the ribbon spools using Memento ink.
  3. Color the ribbons on the stamped image using Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends and Pool Party Stampin' Blends.
  4. On Whisper White card stock stamp the filigree label using Calypso Coral ink.
  5. Using the Arts & Crafts Dies, die cut the ribbon image and the filigree spool out.
  6. Cut a piece of Calypso Coral card stock  5/8in. x 1in. and adhere to center of filigree spool.
  7. Tie a  bow around the center of the filigree label using a piece of Nature's Twine in Grapefruit Grove.
  8. To make the buttons use the Arts & Crafts Dies to cut 5 Buttons from silver foil.   If you choose you can use the Button Button embossing folder and emboss a piece of silver foil card stock.  Use various sized circle punches to cut them out.  1/2in., 3/4in., and 1in.
  9. Cut a piece of Blushing Bride card stock 3/4in. x 2in. and stamp the sentiment "You make everything sparkle" in Calypso Coral ink.
  10. Using Stampin' Dimensionals  and Snail Adhesive assemble your card according the layout in the photo.
For the Mini Shipping Box Project:
  1. Assemble one of the Mini Shipping Boxes folding on the score lines. Using the side with two flaps as the top so the Stampin' UP! Logo on the side of the box faces upright.   Fill your box with treats or goodies of your choice for your recipient!  Tape shut using the Follow Your Art Washi Tape, pattern of your choice.
  2. Cut a piece of Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper 3in. x 12in. and score at1 1/2in., 4 1/8in., 7 1/8in., and 9 7/8in.  Wrap the Designer Series Paper around the box and adhere using a piece of Tear & Tape adhesive.
  3. Cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock 1 1/2in. x 8 1/2in.  Use the Banner Triple Punch and cut a banner tail at each end.
  4. Run the Crushed Curry though the Button Button Embossing Folder.  It won't fit all the way the first time, one end will stick out.  After you have run it through your embossing machine once turn it around and just place the un-embossed end into the folder and run it through again. Voila!  Attach it to the top of the box with Stampin Dimensionals, and then lightly fold down and adhere to the front and back of the box with Stampin Dimensionals as well.
  5. Stamp the clip from the It Starts with Art stamp set in Gray Granite ink, stamped off once.  Cut it out with the Arts & Crafts Die.
  6. Stamp the "you paint my world with happiness" sentiment on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Use a 1 1/2in. circle punch to cut it out.
  7. Adhere the clip to the back of the circle sentiment attach to the Crushed Curry banner.  Embellish with Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana felt flowers from the Follow Your Art Embellishment kit.

For the Pencils, Markers,  & Button Card on the right:
  1. On Whisper White card stock stamp the markers and pencil image six times Memento ink.  You will need six watercolor pencils, 3 Stampin' Blends Markers and 3 Stampin' Write Markers.  You will have some Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write Marker images left over to use for any project you choose.
  2. Using Stampin' Blends markers in Smoky Slate, So Saffron, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Rococo Rose, and Balmy Blue color your card stock watercolor pencils, markers, and blends according to the photo.
  3. Using the Arts & Crafts Dies cut out your card stock watercolor pencils, markers and blends.
  4. Using the Arts & Crafts Dies cut three buttons of each color card stock: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Pool Party, and Balmy Blue. You'll have 12 mini card stock buttons total.
  5. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock   1in. x  3in. and stamp with the sentiment "Follow your art".  Stamp your sentiment closer to the top edge of the card stock.
  6. Using the Arts & Crafts Dies cut the sentiment piece using the lacy die to create a lace edge and then attach underneath the sentiment.
  7. Using the Arts & Crafts dies cut a Silver Foil paper clip....I ran out and cut a Champagne Foil paper clip.
  8. Tie a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine in a bow and glue dot it to the card stock paper clip.
  9. Adhere this paper clip to the right edge of the sentiment piece.
  10. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5 3/4in x 3 3/4in.  Using Dimensionals adhere your card stock watercolor pencils, markers and blends according to the photo onto this piece of card stock and then adhere onto a large size Memories & More Card.  Adhere the sentiment to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
And that is it, you just created three fun, gorgeous projects!

You Always Deliver Tag and Gift Card Holder

When I saw this stamp set in the  2019-2020 Stampin' UP Annual Catalog I knew instantly I wanted to make some cute tags with with.  Then I continued to look through the catalog and found at least 100 other things I wanted to use to make tags with.  But this set really spoke to me so it is the first set from the annual catalog that I have used for tag making.  And I am so glad it is, I absolutely adored the way this tag turned out.

Seriously, how cute is this stamp set with the delivery man and the little doggie!

Then I thought, well I need a gift card holder so what would be more perfect to use than the Kraft Pillow boxes.  Perfect size and already assembled...until I got a hold of it.  I took it apart at the seam and turned it inside out.  Worked like a charm.  After this project I'm excited to use them for Christmas as well.

Sometimes I think a tag can speak louder than a card.  The reason I say that is because when you give a card you will, more than likely, put it in an envelope.  Which is fine, don't get wrong, that is ok.  But when you use a tag instead, that tag is on display from the moment you finish your gift wrapping.  Make sense?  It is out in the open for everyone to see.

"Here I am, a fantastic, handmade tag, Look at me!"

What do you think?  I think it is pretty darn cute!  loved using a tag from the Tags and More Accessory Kit for the base.  It really saved me a step, all I had to do was choose which color I wanted to use.  Coastal Cabana was the best option and I liked that it had the look of graph paper with the pre-printed pattern.  I'm sure there is a name for that pattern but right now I can't think of it, LOL.   If you know what it is called, please comment and let me know.  I also used the Kraft Pillow Boxes and that is what the tag is attached to...I have already given the gift away otherwise I would have taken more photos from different angles for you to see the pillow box better.

Here is a video with all of the measurements and instructions!  Enjoy!
