One Card Wonder Wednesday September 25, 2019 - Simply Elegant Friend Card

It's time for One Card Wonder Wednesday!  I hope you have your crafting hands ready!  This card is something I whipped up today in the midst of making tags, a display board, and organizing items for this weekend's Stampin' Retreat!  My friend holds a Stampin' Retreat twice a year and I help her prepare for it.  It's a great time and I am really looking forward to it.

So in the spirit of crafting all weekend with great friends, I designed a friendship card.  When was the last time you got a card in the mail from a friend?  A just because card, an I'm thinking about you card?

Do you have one of those friendships that is everlasting.  One that keeps you apart in distance but when you get together it is just like you have never been apart?!  That is genuine friendship.   This is the type of friendship I have with my best girlfriend from forever and a day ago!  When we get together we just laugh until our stomachs hurt.  I made this card with her in mind and she will be getting it in the mail soon. 💕

I decided to keep this card simple.  Simple but elegant.  Sometimes, as you know,  I get caught up in adding fluff and embellishments because I like them.  But I need to remember that simple stamping is where I started and it too can be just as memorable, and beautiful, as the "fluff" cards.  And I think this card proves my point.

Measurements and Instructions
  1. Cut a piece of Shimmery White Card stock 4 1/4in. x 11in., score at 5 1/2in. and fold on score line.
  2. Snip the corners off from the top of the folded card, to give it the appearance of being a giant gift tag.
  3. In Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink stamp a floral arrangement from the Bloom & Grow stamp set on the bottom front of the card.
  4. While the ink is still wet use an Aqua Painter to smudge the ink of the flower petals and fill them in with a light gold careful not to use to much water.
  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the top front of the card.
  6. In Memento Black ink stamp the sentiment "you are simply WONDERFUL" in the center of the card.
  7. Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 4in. x 4 3/4in.  Stamp a small floral image from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set on the lower right corner and adhere to inside of card using snail adhesive.  Voila!

ARCHIVES - Country Home Card

Ok, no excuses, but today is a busy day with appointments and plans with my hubby.  If you don't know, my husband works away from home and I have limited time with him when he is here.  So I take advantage of every minute I get to spend with him.

So Instead of Update Tuesday I am going back into the archives to show you an amazing card I made last year around this time.  I used the Country Home Stamp set & Whisper White Card Stock to make this beauty.  There are three items that are no longer available, one is the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon but I think the currently available Denim Ribbon would be a perfect substitution.  The second  unavailable item is the Detailed with Love Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday just substitute any Sentiment that you like.  Third, the Galvanized card stock I used for the milk can...just substitute any color you like!  Be bold!

This is one of my favorite cards of all time.  I just love how it turned out.  The simplicity of the all Whisper White background paired with the texture from the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and the Corrugated Embossing Folder just create an elegance I hadn't anticipated until I put them together.

All measurements are in the video so make sure you view it!  I apologize, I didn't have time to get them typed up for you!

One Card Wonder Wednesday September 18, 2019 - Come To Gather Suite

It's time for another One Card Wonder Wednesday and today is a good one.  Lots of fluff and layers.  As you all know by now, I like fluff and layers.  Although my friends would be very proud of me...I did not include any vellum in my layers this time.  LOL!

Do you love Autumn as much as I do? Have you seen the Come to Gather Suite in the holiday catalog yet?  If you haven't you are missing out.  If you live in the United States and need a demonstrator just contact me and I will get a catalog to you.

There are so many beautiful colors that coordinate with this Suite: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Merry Merlot, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty Peacock, & Whisper White.  And if you ask me, I think Pool Party and Gray Granite coordinate with this set fantastically.  I chose to use both of them for this card.

What do you think?  What do you like the most about it?  I love everything about it.  From the coordinating colors - to the die cut/embossed leaves - to the frayed Braided Linen Trim.

Measurements & Instructions
  1. Cut a piece of Pool Party Cardstock 5 1/2in. x 8 1/2in., score at 4 1/2in. and fold on score line.
  2. Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, die cut two pieces of coordinating Come to Gather Designer Series Paper.  Approximately 2 1/4in. x 3 1/2in. and 3 1/4in. x 4 3/4in.
  3. Layer and adhere both stitched rectangles to the from of your card.
  4. Using the Gathered Leaves Dies, die cut & emboss four leaves in coordinating colors, I used Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, and Gray Granite.
  5. Fussy two feathers from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper.
  6. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp the sentiment "Season of THANKS" from the Gathering Together Stamp Set onto a piece of Pool Party Card Stock and punch out using the Darling Label Punch.
  7. Begin the layering process by adhering one of your leaves to the top left corner of the smaller stitched rectangle using Snail Adhesive or Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
  8. Then using Stampin dimensionals adhere two leaves to the top left back of the Darling Label punched sentiment.
  9. Layer another leaf over the first leaf that you attached directly to the card, using one dimensional at the top of the leaf.
  10. Adhere the Darling Label sentiment grouping to the front of the card.
  11. Using Tombow Multipurpose Glue adhere the feathers to the card.
  12. Unroll your braided Linen Trim and tie a knot about 1- 1/2in. and cut it off. Repeat this process two more times.
  13. Then using your Take You Pick tool, run it through the braided trim and fray it.  Do this for each piece.
  14. Attach a glue dot to the knotted end of each piece of braided thread and attach in between the leaves.
  15. Tie a bow with Linen Thread and attach it using a glue dot to the top right of the Darling Label Punched Sentiment, leaving a long tail of thread.
  16. Embellish the card with Nople Peacock Rhinestones.
  17. Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 4in. x 5 1/4in.  Stamp a Wheat Stalk in Pretty Peacock in on the lower right corner and adhere to the inside of the card using Snail Adhesive. Voila!
