Update Tuesday September 10, 2019 - Above the Clouds Card

Happy Tuesday to you!  Update Tuesday is here and I'm ready to share it with you.
Are you ready?

This week Stampin' UP! shared the Above the Clouds Bundle and three projects.
When I opened my email this morning the first thing that caught my eye was the banner!  How beautiful is this banner?!  From the Ombre paper created using the Stampin' Spritzer, to the clouds created with Shimmery White Embossing Paste, simply gorgeous.  Then add the hot air balloons perfectly colored and the die cut "welcome baby" sentiment to complete.

The mini pizza box utilizes two step stamping to create the hot air balloon.  And of course the Hot Air Balloon Punch punches out your masterpiece.  Stamp your clouds using Whisper White Craft ink.  Tie it all together with a piece of Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon.

While the no-line watercoloring technique highlights the hot air balloon on the monotone note card.  And this is the project I chose to do today.

I need practice with no line watercoloring so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to work on my skills...which as you can see, are not perfect.  But that didn't stop me from recording myself creating this card.  Practice, Practice, Practice.  I used Shimmery White Card Stock to watercolor this image on and though it worked well, I will try my next watercoloring project using the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper to see how it works.

Measurements & Instructions
  1. Cut Sahara Sand Card Stock 5in. x 7in. and score 3 1/2in. and fold on score.
  2. Using the Stitched Label Dies, in Sahara Sand Card Stock, die cut one stitched label and two stitched hearts.  Then die cut one small stitched circle in Whisper White Card Stock.
  3. Using the Above the Clouds Stamp Set, stamp the Hot Air Balloon & Basket onto Shimmery White Card Stock or Fluid 100 Water Color Paper in Sahara Sand Ink, stamping off twice first.  View my video to make a template using your Hot Air Balloon Punch to make it easier to punch your images out.
  4. Using Sahara Sand Ink and Poppy Parade Ink watercolor your images with an Aqua Painter.  Let dry and add another water color coat to make your image darker if you prefer.
  5. After your watercoloring is dry, punch out your Hot Air Balloon and Basket.
  6. Adhere your Sahara Sand Label to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Adhere your Balloon and basket to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  8. Adhere your stitched hearts to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  9. Stamp the "hi friend" sentiment to the Whisper White stitched circle and adhere to the front of card using Snail Adhesive.
  10. Cut a piece of Linen Thread, lace it through the left end of the stitched label, and tie a bow.
  11. Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 3 1/4in. x 4 3/4in. and stamp the triple cloud image in Sahara Sand.  Then adhere to the inside of the card.  Voila!
