One Card Wonder Wednesday October 30, 2019 - Still Scenes Bundle

Welcome to today's One Card Wonder Wednesday!  Today I had the opportunity to play with the Still Scenes Bundle.  Have you seen this bundle?  It is so fun.  I mean, really fun!  I was super excited to play with it today.  Now, if you just buy the stamp set, it is beautiful.  But buy-in the entire bundle with the dies is the way to go!  You can die cut all the little pieces for the inside of your snow globe...deer, polar bear, trees, church, and the base for the snow globe.  Then if you stamp the house image from the stamp set you can die cut that out as well.

There are so many options for assembling your snow globe.  One possibility is to put the church in front with trees in the background and lots of Ice Stampin' Glitter and Snowflake Sequins to shake it up!   There are so many options to choose from it was difficult.  Trees in the background with polar bears in front is the option I chose...and of course lots of the shake-ables too!
Here is my design:

Soooo?  What do you like about it?  I wanted to try a muted color combination with lots of sparkle but the Seaside Spray is less muted once you add Silver Glimmer and Sparkle Glimmer paper to the mix.  Don't you think?  It is stunning, if I do say so myself. 😊

And then when you see these Polar Bears up close, it makes you love it even more!
Am I right?

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

Measurements & Instructions
  1. Cut a piece of Seaside Spray Card Stock 4 1/4in. x 11in.,  score at 5 1/2in. and fold on the score line.
  2. Cut 3 pieces of Whisper White Card Stock 4in. x 5 1/4in.  Line one with Tear and Tape Adhesive around the edges and set aside.
  3. Using the Snow Globe Scene Dies die cut the snow globe shape out from the front of the card, toward the top center.  Then emboss it Whisper White Card Stock using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.
  4. Then from Sparkle Glimmer Paper, Seaside Spray Card Stock, and Window Sheets die cut three sets of the trees from the Snow Globe Scene Dies.
  5. From Sparkle Glimmer Paper die cut a mother and baby Polar Bear from the Snow Globe dies as well.
  6. Using the Snow Globe Scene Dies, from Silver Glimmer Paper die cut the intricate image for the front of the snow globe base.  Then from Silver Foil Sheets die cut the snow globe base.  Adhere the two together using Shimmery Crystal Effects.  I have found this to be great glue for hard to stick items.
  7. Lay the Stylish Scroll embossed Whisper White Card Stock that has the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of it.  Then using Stampin' Dimensionals and Tombow Multipurpose Glue assemble your trees and polar bears to your liking.  Set aside....make sure your embossed card stock doesn't get stuck to your background.
  8. Remove the adhesive backing from the front edge of the Snow Globe Shaker Dome and then slice the Stylish Scroll embossed Whisper White Card Stock over the top of it and adhere it to the adhesive.  This is easiest after viewing my video.
  9. Flip this over now and add some Stampin' Ice Glitter and  Snowflake Sequins to the snow globe.  Leave it turned over so it is like a bowl full of glitter, LOL.
  10. Using Snail Adhesive adhere the assemble tree & Polar Bear piece to the Stylish Scroll piece.
  11. Peel the Tear & Tape Adhesive from the back and adhere to the front of the card.
  12. Adhere the snow globe base to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  13. Cut a piece of Seaside Spray Card Stock 1in. x 3 in. and in Seaside Spray Ink stamp the sentiment "SEASON'S Greetings".  Then cut the end to make it a banner and then adhere to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  14. Embellish the front of the card using Snowflake Sequins.
  15. On the remaining piece of Whisper White Card Stock stamp the sentiment "May the timeless message of Christmas fill your heart and home with joy today and always." Voila!

  2. Place all of the dotted stamps from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set onto one clear block then stamp the entire Cherry Cobbler card front and back using Cherry Cobbler Ink.
  3. Using the Roses Dies, die cut a rose image form the Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.

  5. Adhere the Stitched Nested Label to the front of card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. Cut two pieces of Gold Shimmer Ribbon, one 2 1/2in. and one 3in. long.  Trim the ends on a diagonal.  Adhere to the Stitched Nested Label using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
  7. On a 1/2in. x 1 1/2in. strip of Whisper White Card Stock stamp the sentiment "Peace & Joy" in either Cherry Cobbler Ink or Mossy Meadow Ink.  You will have to mask off the "WISHING YOU THE GIFTS OF THE SEASON" portion of the stamp with a post-it note or tape.  I show this process in the video.
  8. Cut the end of the Whisper White sentiment piece to make a banner tail.  Then trim down the white card stock so it is even closer to the sentiment, making the banner skinnier.

  11. For my variation on the card, leave the top right edge not adhered.
  12. Using the Roses Dies, die cut a Gold Foil lattice piece.  Cut that piece in half and save half for another card.
  13. Life the top right edge of the Rose die cut piece and squirt a little bit of Tombow Multipurpose Glue under the edge and then slide the cut edge of the Gold Foil lattice piece under the edge.  Set a clear block on top of the Rose die cut piece to hold it until the glue dries.
  14. Embellish the front of the card with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
  15. Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 4in. x 5 1/4in. and stamp the sentiment "MAY THIS Christmas FILL YOUR HEART WITH warmth & love" in either Cherry Cobbler or Mossy Meadow ink.
  16. Adhere this piece to the inside of card using Snail Adhesive.  Voila!

Crafting Weekend with Family - Countdown Calendar Project Kit

I had company this weekend and we had some fun crafting time!  My Aunt came to visit me.  We both have October  birthdays and we wanted to get together to celebrate before the month was over.
Initially it was supposed to be a relaxing girls weekend but she was asked to babysit two of her grandbabies and our weekend plans changed.

We had planned to make Christmas Cards and decorate out Countdown Calendars.  We didn't get to the Christmas Cards but we were able to get the Countdown Calendars decorated.  So we accomplished one goal!  Unfortunately going out for manis, pedis & shopping in stores with lots of breakables went right out the window!  LOL

My aunt working hard on her Countdown Calendar.

On Saturday morning we decided we would be crafting in our pajamas.  So we made breakfast for everyone, pancakes and sausage patties.  Then after we cleaned up the kitchen I got out a bin of my dollhouse furniture that had originally belonged to my aunt and her older sisters.  These toys have been through decades of playing and they were put to good use today.  I also have a metal barn that had been my dad's as a child and that was the make-shift doll house today.  It was a fun day for them and for us.

Finished Calendars!  They turned out so wonderful!  We used the kit, plus the Christmas Countdown Stamp Set with Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Mossy Meadow inks.   We also added various rhinestones/enamel dots for bling.  The beautiful thing about this kit...once you are finished with your kit you can store it in the original box it came in.  So storing until the next year is a breeze and it protects your calendar from damage.

My Dad's Barn being used as a zoo/barn, LOL!  And some of my vintage dollhouse furniture.

And My Grandpa doll, how cute is this guy!  He was most likely made in the late 1940's early 1950's.    I also have the Grandma and a child...both were partially eaten by a puppy back in the day.  the puppy liked their arms and hands.

Although our plans changed slightly, it was still a weekend full of fun memories, like the video my Aunt's 10 year old granddaughter decided to take of me as I was bending over getting food out of the freezer for breakfast, good gracious!  That video has since been deleted but the memory remains.  EEK!

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

One Card Wonder Wednesday October 23, 2019 - Nature's Beauty Cards

Thanks for joining me again for another One Card Wonder Wednesday!  As you know, I sometimes like to make two coordinating cards instead of just is one of those days!  I am using the Nature's Beauty stamp set for the first time today.  It is featured on the inside back cover of the holiday catalog.  Every purchase of this set donates $3 to Mental Health Charities around the world.  If you purchase from me, that $3 goes to NAMI in the United States.  If you are viewing this blog but live in one of these countries, locate a demonstrator in your country and purchase from them so the equivalent of $3 can be donated to these charities:
  • Canada: Center for Addiction and Mental Health
  • United Kingdom, France, Germany: Mental Health Europe
  • Austria: Pro Mente Austria
  • The Netherlands: MIND
  • Australia: Black Dog Institute
  • New Zealand: Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand
  • Japan: Center for Japanese Mental Health
So don't hesitate, if there is any stamp in this year's holiday catalog that you should purchase, it is this one.  Let's deplete Stampin' UP!'s® inventory for this set!

Without further ado...Card #1  I love this fox, he has attitude!  But also looks he might just need a cuddle!
I had thought about stamping him in Basic Gray and it looked pretty but I didn't feel there was enough contrast.  So I changed my mind and used Cajun Craze ink for him.  Now that I look at this photo, I feel like I should have tied a tiny bow around his neck, ha!

And then there is Card # serene and peaceful looking.  Two deer standing side by side.  It brings back memories of childhood in Michigan and riding in the bed of a pick up truck on summer evenings to see deer standing in the farmers' fields.  Oh to be a kid again.  That is what this card makes me think it will be the one I send to my Dad this holiday season.

Together, these cards definitely create a beautiful scene.  I knew when I bought this set I would like it, but now I definitely love it.  I think you could use it for birthday cards, get well cards, etc.  This set does not have any sentiments in it,  so I used a sentiment from the So Many Stars Stamp Set.

Just think of the possibilities.  Sometimes having a stamp set without sentiments in it helps free your imagination.  There are no preconceived notions about what this stamp set is for.
You make it what you want it to be.  That's how I feel about this set.

Here is the video link for my email subscribers
Ok, I need to apologize I had some recording issues with my new phone...sound cuts out halfway through the video...please follow written instructions as well as video instructions. 😊

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!
