UpdateTuesday - March 31, 2020 - Ornate Garden Suite

Hello!

It's Time for Update Tuesday once again.  Are you ready?  I am!  Tomorrow, April 1st the Ornate Garden Suite will be available for you to purchase.  It is a pre-release from the upcoming annual catalog.  We get it early, how fun is that?!

There are so many elements to the suite, I can't wait for you to see them all tomorrow online at valeriesmith.stampinup.net  There are two stamp sets, two sets of dies, two ribbons, and one new embellishment.

Here is the project inspiration photo that Stampin' UP!® shared with us today.

Image © Stampin' UP!®

Today I am going to make both of these projects.  Although I will be turning the cute little gift box on the right into a card.

Here is the first card:

What a great little way to thank someone!  I did make the Terracotta Tile eyelet piece in the center square, in the original photo it isn't quite square.  It caught my eye and I wanted each corner of it to touch the stamped filigree corners.

The second card:

I love how this turned out.  It is a fabulous card.  The use of watercolor pencils and the blender pens add the muted color that it needed.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

THANK YOU!

Birthday Bonanza Gift Card Holders!

Hello!

I have a super fun project for you today!
Gift Card Holders made with Medium Whisper White Envelopes.   I promise you, these are super easy to make.   And did I mention they are adorable too?!

I chose to use the Birthday Bonanza Suite Bundle.  I love this suite of products.  The vibrant colors and playful animals make it perfect for birthdays.  But I think you could use for celebrations of all kinds, not just birthdays.

This little lion with his party hat askew makes me smile.

This is the first one I made.  I love the ice cream cone pattern on this designer series paper.

How sweet is the smiling Koala Bear!  I thought this balloon designer series paper combined with the Crushed Curry Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was perfect for this gift card holder.

What do you think of this one?  I designed this one for gift giving to an adult.  That is why I chose the basic black card stock for the background and the pennants.
I love how it makes the balloon print pop.

This gift card holder is the one I make in the video and all the instructions below are for this one.  But you can adapt them and create any of the gift card holders above.   I wanted to use all of the animals for this one.  Combined with the Bermuda Bay card stock and striped ribbon.  This one is my favorite.

A peek at the inside!  The pocket on the left will hold a gift card or money!  Perfect for gift giving!

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

One Card Wonder Wednesday, March 25, 2020 - To A Wild Rose

Hello!

Hope all is well.  Welcome to One Card Wonder Wednesday where I make one card,
on Wednesday.  LOL.  I had fun making tonight's card using the To A Wild Rose Stamp Set.  The dies that accompany this set are free with a $100 purchase through March 31, 2020!
So get yourself some free before they are gone!

I wanted to make something a little different.  I think I accomplished that.  Although it really was trial an error.  Especially after I started to make it.  My vision was a little askew...but it all worked out.

When I added the petals I had not originally stamped and cut enough of them.  So I added more after the video to fill the flower in.  I love how it turned out.

The Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends were perfect for coloring the flowers.  I colored them layer by  layer to deepen the color.

I used the polka dot print paper from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper for the floral backdrop.  This polka dots are so pretty!  I cut a label from Whisper White Card Stock using the Wild Rose Dies  which you can get FREE until March 31st!
I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

All three of these are cute but I especially like the brightness of the card on the right.   So that is the one I chose to make today.  It is such an adorable little note card.

Whose day could you brighten with this card?  I can think of a few.  Honestly, I think everyone would love getting a card in the mail right now!  Don't you?

This Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper is so vibrant.    I love how the fruit just "jumps" off the page!  Then add a sentiment, some extra flowers. leaves, and the little trinkets and this card is done!  Super Easy!

Botanical Prints Medley - Let's Learn Some Techniques!

Hello!

I have been holding onto this Medley for a few weeks now trying to figure out what I wanted to make with it.   Today, it came to me.  Why not just practice and demonstrate some fun techniques.  We can always use a refresher for techniques!  At least I know I can.

When I gathered all of my supplies I really didn't have any particular techniques in mind....except maybe the first technique I demonstrated in the videos below and that is using embossing paste.  I love the look and dimension that it adds to a card or other paper craft project.

Here is the card I made with the  embossing paste background.

I love how the background just "jumps off" from the card.

The second technique I used was sponging with several different colors.  I used the lattice die cut as a mask and then decided I like the sponging on the mask as a background.

What do you think?  Simple technique but it adds so much color to the card.

The third technique I demonstrated was using the Spritzing bottle with a mixture of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and Terracotta Tile Ink refill.

I spritzed an entire sheet of Whisper White Card Stock and it turned out a beautiful pale, Terracotta Tile color.    I stamped the sentiment on a strip of it for the above card.

After I finished these three cards I took a little break.  I came back online on Facebook Live later to showcase some other techniques.

Fourth technique featured today is heat embossing...I love this technique so much.  I did it twice.  And I even threw in some watercoloring.

I loved how the heat embossing turned out on the water color paper, this card and the card above.

Here is the final card. Water coloring with the aqua painters and sponging for this card!

I am so happy with the way this card looks.  The sponged background on the watercolor paper is so striking.  To be honest, I really wasn't expecting that.  It was a pleasant surprise.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

THANK YOU!
