Update Tuesday - April 28, 2020 - Varied Vases

Hello!

Today's Update Tuesday is a wonderful card!  It is made with the Varied Vases Stamp Set and Vases Builder Punch.  The Varied Vases Stamp Set is one of the retiring stamp sets.  It is available through June 2, 2020, while supplies last.

I chose to make the card in the center.  I love the three little vases, each with a single flower.  The sentiment that Stampin' UP!® used is from the Here's A Card Stamp Set.  I decided to make my card just a little bit different and use the "Hello" sentiment from the  Varied Vases Stamp Set.  I just stamped it three times, instead of once, to fill the scalloped square.

One Card Wonder Wednesday, April 22, 2020 - Black & White Card

Hello!

Recently Stampin' UP!® shared the  new flyer for the May Paper Pumpkin and it is in black & white. Their theme inspired me to create a black & white card today.  I had never even thought about using black & white as a them for a project.  It's so simple.  I've seen projects made that way before but it didn't occur to me to make one until now.

As I was thinking about what to do with this card I felt it needed a few layers.  I didn't want a simple stamping card today.

I started with a Smoky Slate Card Base.  Added a Whisper white layer stamped in Smoky Slate Ink using the Handwritten background stamp.  I love this layer.

I made sure I added some texture with Embossing paste on the Basic Black Stitched Rectangle.  I used one of the Basic Pattern Decorative masks for this.

I used the Well Said stamp set, coordinating Well Written Dies, and the Stitched Rectangle dies to finish the card design.  I used Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black,  and Smoky Slate Card Stock.  I just love that little black bird.  He's so cute!  I embellished the card with Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins and Rhinestone Jewels.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!

Update Tuesday - April 21, 2020 - Above the Clouds Card

Hello!

Welcome to Update Tuesday!  Stampin' UP! shared so many wonderful things today with its Independent Demonstrators...not just the card I'm going to show you.  If you are a demonstrator, you know.  IF you want to know...Join My Team Here: https://valeriesmith.stampinup.net/join_now

In our Succeed Weekly Email we received today there were four amazing cards to choose from.  I instantly fell in love with the Above The Clouds card on the right.  Well, actually I fell in love with all of them but that one is my fave.

Today's post was all about CASEing...Copy And Share Everything!  The focus was on CASEing Techniques and color combinations.  Here's how they did that today:
"We selected the Enjoy the Little Things card from page 125 of the annual catalog as the inspiration piece. Then, we used these CASEing techniques to create three additional projects.
  • Copy the color scheme. The Great Places card uses the same color scheme as the inspiration piece.
  • Copy the technique. The Thanks card copies the technique of the original card by incorporating a die-cut background with separate cut-out pieces added back in.
  • Copy the layout. Take the guesswork out of project design by using the inspiration piece as a template as we did on the Love & Joy card. Simply mimic the design but substitute different stamps, paper, and accessories."
This card makes me happy!  What do you think?

I think the sentiment used for this card from the Above The Clouds Stamp Set would be perfect for graduation cards...and even this card would make a nice graduation card!

One Card Wonder Wednesday ...Thursday, I'm a day late!

Hello!

Today I made a simple shaker card.  Shaker cards are easier to make than you think!  And I made this one super easy by using punches instead of dies.  I used the Starburst punch, one of my favorites.

Look at how fun this card is!  I designed it yesterday but was unable to do my video last night so I went LIVE today on Facebook.  I love being able to give you written instructions, photos, as well as video to watch.

Look at those sequins! I love the variety of sequins that come in the Peaceful Poppies sequins.  There are round and flower shapes in fine colors: Black, Clear, Gold, Dark Poppy Parade, and Light Poppy Parade.  If you choose you can also add some extra small punched items into the shaker card to add extra texture.

I appreciate you being a part of my Stampin' Journey!

I live & love to inspire you!
