Hello and welcome to October’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop! we are super excited to share our projects with you. Our October theme is Dark and Stormy night. Spooky! Are you frightened yet? Don’t be….muahahahah! My project is only slightly spooky, LOL! There are lots of projects so make sure you see them all! Head to the other links after you are finished checking out my cute card!
I had an idea in my head about how this card would look and it’s pretty close to what I imagined. To start I die cut a bunch of houses and trees using the Home Together Dies. Not a typical set of Halloween dies but perfect for this project. Knowing that all of the houses would be black, I didn’t have to worry about stamping any of them with the Coming Home Stamp Set…I only used the bare tree stamp from that set.
This card was a blast to create and I really didn’t have to think about a bunch of color combinations as I went with Black, Basic Gray, and Misty Moonlight. Perfect for a dark, slightly spooky Halloween card!
I used the sentiment “Happy Haunting” from the Banner Year Stamp Set and stamped it on Misty Moonlight card stock. Then added a vellum circle behind the sentiment. You know how much I love vellum! LOL.
I absolutely how sponging the moon with three colors made it look. Make sure you view the video the see my technique. And I really thought I could get away without adding anything else to the card, but the bottom of the card just looked bare. That is where the Glittered Organdy Ribbon came in. Sparkly is not what I originally imagined for this card but the ribbon added just the right touch.
